On the House Floor This Week - 6/5/17

This week the House of Representatives will be in session, with votes expected Tuesday through Friday. The legislative schedule, including which bills are brought to the floor for a vote, is set by the Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and the Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy.

On Tuesday, the House will meet at 12:00 p.m. for Morning Hour debate and 2:00 p.m. for legislative business, with votes postponed until 6:30 p.m.

Suspensions (3 bills)

  1. H.Res. 354 – Condemning the violence against peaceful protesters outside the Turkish Ambassador's residence on May 16, 2017, and calling for the perpetrators to be brought to justice and measures to be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future (Rep. Royce – Foreign Affairs)
  2. H.R. 390 – Iraq and Syria Genocide Emergency Relief and Accountability Act of 2017, as amended (Rep. Smith (NJ) – Foreign Affairs)
  3. H.Res. 355 – Condemning in the strongest terms the terrorist attacks in Manchester, United Kingdom, on May 22, 2017, expressing heartfelt condolences, and reaffirming unwavering support for the special relationship between our peoples and nations in the wake of these attacks (Rep. Meeks – Foreign Affairs)


On Wednesday and Thursday, the House will meet at 10:00 a.m. for Morning Hour debate and 12:00 p.m. for legislative business. On Friday, the House will meet at 9:00 a.m. for legislative business, with last votes expected no later than 3:00 p.m.
