Delaney Invites Marylanders to Share Metro Concerns and Suggestions
WASHINGTON – As Congressman John K. Delaney (MD-6) drafts legislation to improve Metro, he encourages constituents to share their experiences and offer him their feedback, concerns and suggestions. “I want to hear from Marylanders on Metro – the good, bad and the ugly – and get their feedback on the most pressing areas of need,” said Congressman Delaney. “Making Metro safer and more reliable has been a huge topic of discussion from the time I’ve taken office, but concerns have only increased following a number of accidents in recent years. Metro needs big changes and we’re drafting legislation to increase funding and put Metro on the right track to better service and as we work on this issue, I want Marylanders to share their thoughts.”
Earlier this month, Congressman Delaney announced he will be filing legislation to improve Metro service by initiating a new Metro compact, a move that will allow comprehensive reforms. Last year, Delaney introduced bipartisan legislation that would require that federal appointees to Metro’s board be certified experts in transportation, management, finance or safety.
