Here is the tentative legislative calendar for the week of January 27: the House will be in session Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

This week the House will receive the President in a joint session of Congress for a State of the Union address. To share your views on what the President should focus on in the State of the Union, click here.

In addition, the House may consider a conferenced version of the farm bill to extend funding for agricultural support, rural development, food and nutritional programs and more.

MONDAY, JANUARY 27

On Monday, the House will meet at 12:00 p.m. for morning hour debate and 2:00 p.m. for legislative business, with votes postponed until 6:30 pm.

Legislation Considered Under Suspension of the Rules:

  1. H.R. 2166 - Good Samaritan Search and Recovery Act, as amended (Sponsored by Rep. Heck / Natural Resources Committee)
  2. H.R. 1684 - Ranch A Consolidation Management Improvement Act (Sponsored by Rep. Lummis / Natural Resources Committee)
  3. H.R. 3008 - To provide for the conveyance of a small parcel of National Forest System land in Los Padres National Forest in California, and for other purposes (Sponsored by Rep. Capps / Natural Resources Committee)

TUESDAY, JANUARY 28

On Tuesday, the House will meet at 10:00 a.m. for morning hour debate and 12:00 p.m. for legislative business. The House will recess no later than 5:30 PM and meet again at approximately 8:35 PM for the President’s State of the Union address.

  1. H.R. 7 - No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act (Sponsored by Rep. Smith / Ways and Means, Judiciary, and Energy and Commerce Committees)

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29

On Thursday, the House will meet at 9:00 a.m. for legislative business with votes expected no later than 3:00 p.m.
